Anne Biondi was born in 1928 in Marseille, France. She was trained as a nurse and worked for several years as a midwife in Algeria. In 1962, she moved to Quebec, Canada with her family and continued her career in nursing.

During her time in Quebec, Biondi became interested in the women's movement and started studying feminist theory. In 1973, she founded the Quebec Federation of Women in Nursing, which aimed to empower female nurses and promote their rights.

In the 1980s, Biondi became involved in the fight against sexual assault and domestic violence. She founded the Centre de ressources et d'action pour le changement d'équilibre (CRÈCHE), which provided support, counseling, and education to victims of these crimes.

Biondi was also a prolific writer, publishing several books on feminist theory and nursing. She was a recipient of numerous awards and honors throughout her life, including the Governor General's Award in Commemoration of the Persons Case.

Anne Biondi passed away in 2015 at the age of 87. She is remembered as a pioneer of feminist nursing and a tireless advocate for women's rights.
