Dave Holmes (boyfriend)

Dave Holmes is an American television host, writer and comedian born on March 14, 1971. He became famous in 1998 after he finished as a runner-up on the first season of MTV's reality competition show "Wanna Be a VJ." Following the show, he was hired by MTV as a VJ and hosted a number of shows, including the daily live show "MTV Live."

Outside of MTV, Holmes has worked as a writer and contributor for a number of publications, including Rolling Stone, Vulture, and Esquire. He has also been a guest on numerous television shows, including "The View," "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," and "Comedy Bang! Bang!"

Holmes has also made a name for himself as a comedian, performing stand-up comedy and improv at renowned comedy clubs such as The Comedy Store in Los Angeles and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York. In recent years, he has focused on his writing, releasing a memoir titled "Party of One: A Memoir in 21 Songs" in 2016.

While not much is known about his personal life, Holmes is openly gay and has been in a long-term relationship with his boyfriend Ben. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
