Gayle King
Gayle King is a television personality and journalist. Born in 1954 in Maryland, King began her career as a production assistant at WJZ-TV in Baltimore. She later worked as a reporter and anchor at various stations, including WDAF-TV in Kansas City and WFSB in Hartford. In 1991, King moved to New York City and became the host of a local talk show called "The Gayle King Show." She later joined the O, The Oprah Magazine as an editor-at-large and frequently appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" as a guest. In 2011, King became a co-host of "CBS This Morning," and has since covered major news stories, including the Boston Marathon bombing and the death of Nelson Mandela. Outside of her journalism career, King is known for her philanthropic work and social activism. She is a board member of the Robin Hood Foundation, and has worked with various organizations that support women and children. King is also a close friend of Oprah Winfrey, and has been featured on Winfrey's programming multiple times.
