Katherine Parkinson

Katherine Parkinson is an English actress and comedian, best known for her work in the television series The IT Crowd. She was born on March 9, 1978, in Hounslow, London, and grew up in Richmond, London.

Parkinson studied at Oxford University, where she was part of the Oxford Revue comedy group. After graduation, she started performing in various comedy clubs and festivals, including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

In 2006, Parkinson landed her breakthrough role as Jen Barber in the Channel 4 sitcom The IT Crowd. She received critical acclaim for her performance on the show, which ran for four seasons.

Apart from her work on The IT Crowd, Parkinson has appeared in several other television series, including Doc Martin, Humans, and The Honourable Woman. She has also worked in theatre and film, starring in productions such as Home, Dead Funny, and How to Lose Friends & Alienate People.

Parkinson has been nominated for several awards for her acting, including a BAFTA Television Award for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Programme in 2009.

Outside of her acting career, Parkinson is involved with several charitable organizations, including Shelter and Oxfam. She is married to actor Harry Peacock, and the couple has two children together.
