Katherine Parkinson is an English actress and comedian, best known for her work in the television series The IT Crowd. She was born on March 9, 1978, in Hounslow, London, and grew up in Richmond, London.
Parkinson studied at Oxford University, where she was part of the Oxford Revue comedy group. After graduation, she started performing in various comedy clubs and festivals, including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
In 2006, Parkinson landed her breakthrough role as Jen Barber in the Channel 4 sitcom The IT Crowd. She received critical acclaim for her performance on the show, which ran for four seasons.
