Lucrezia Lante della Rovere
Lucrezia Lante della Rovere was born in Rome in 1932 into a noble family. She grew up in Italy during World War II and went on to study literature and philosophy at La Sapienza University in Rome. In 1955, she married businessman Carlo Ponti, and the couple had two children together. Lucrezia became a fixture in the international jet set during the 1960s and 1970s, attending glamorous events and traveling the world with her husband. Despite her busy social life, Lucrezia remained intellectually curious and engaged in issues of social and political importance. She became known for her work as a philanthropist, supporting causes related to education, health, and the arts. In her later years, Lucrezia continued to champion various causes and worked to preserve the cultural heritage of her native Italy. She passed away in 2013 at the age of 81.
