Michael Stone (ex Husband)

Michael Stone was a British academic who was known for his work in psychology and philosophy. He was born on April 3, 1954, in Birmingham, England. He earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Bristol in 1975, a Master's degree from the University of Sussex in 1976, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Oxford in 1981. Stone was a professor of clinical psychology at Columbia University in New York City from 1996 until his death in 2011. He was the author of several books, including "The Borders of Sanity: Neurosis, Psychosis, and the Limits of Mental Health," which earned him widespread recognition. Stone was also known for his personal life, particularly his marriage to the Canadian writer and filmmaker, Cari Beauchamp. The couple got married in 1988 and had two children together. However, their marriage was troubled, and they separated several times before finally divorcing in 2002. In 2011, Stone died at the age of 57 in a hotel room in Northern Ireland while attending a conference. The cause of his death was determined to be acute heart failure. His death was a shock to the academic community and many of his colleagues paid tribute to his work and contributions to the field of psychology.
