Prince Ludwig of Bavaria (1913–2008)

Prince Ludwig of Bavaria was born on June 11, 1913 in Munich, Germany. He was the youngest son of Prince Adalbert of Bavaria and his wife, Augusta of Tuscany. Prince Ludwig grew up in several places in Europe, including Germany, Austria, and Italy. In 1931, Prince Ludwig began his military service, and later became a pilot. During World War II, he served with the Luftwaffe and was awarded the Iron Cross for his service. After the war, he was held as a prisoner of war for a brief period. Following his release, Prince Ludwig settled in Italy and began a career as a painter. He lived in various places around the world, including Italy, Switzerland, and the United States. He married twice, and had four children. Prince Ludwig continued to pursue his passion for art throughout his life, and his work was exhibited in galleries around the world. He died on October 17, 2008 in Rome, Italy at the age of 95.
