Prince Shiv of Palitana
Prince Shiv of Palitana was born in 1869 in the Royal family of Palitana. He pursued his education at the Rajkumar College in Rajkot and completed his studies in England. Upon his return to India, he started taking an active part in the administration of Palitana. Prince Shiv was known for his philanthropic work and was a staunch supporter of education. He started several schools and colleges to provide quality education to the people of Palitana. He also established several hospitals and dispensaries to provide healthcare services to the people. Prince Shiv was an avid sportsman and had a keen interest in horses. He established the Palitana Racing and Breeding Club and also organized several equestrian events. In addition to his philanthropic and sporting work, Prince Shiv was also a noted writer and poet. He wrote several books on Indian history, culture, and spirituality. He was also a patron of the arts and played a significant role in promoting traditional Indian music and dance forms. Prince Shiv passed away in 1942, leaving behind a legacy of philanthropy, sportsmanship, literature, and art. His contributions to the development of Palitana continue to be remembered and celebrated to this day.
