Princess Elisabeth of Luxembourg (1901–1950)

Princess Elisabeth of Luxembourg was born in 1901 to Grand Duchess Charlotte and Prince Felix of Bourbon-Parma. She grew up in a royal family and received a good education. During World War II, she and her family were exiled to the United States, where she worked for the Red Cross and volunteered in hospitals. In 1944, Elisabeth returned to Luxembourg and was actively involved in rebuilding the country after the war. She became president of the Luxembourg Red Cross in 1945 and also worked for organizations that helped refugees and children. Elisabeth was known for her kindness and compassion towards others. She died in 1950 at the age of 49 due to complications from a blood transfusion. She was buried in the crypt of the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg. Her legacy lives on through the Princess Elisabeth Foundation, which supports social projects and organizations in Luxembourg.
