Princess Maria Beatrice of Savoy
Princess Maria Beatrice of Savoy was born on February 20, 1943, in Rome, Italy. She was the eldest daughter of Prince Umberto of Italy and Princess Marie José of Belgium. Her family went into exile in Switzerland after the collapse of the Italian monarchy in 1946. Maria Beatrice married Luis Rafael Courtenay, a British businessman, in 1970, and they had two children together. However, they divorced in 1976. In 1980, Maria Beatrice married Enrico Nobile dei Principi di Francavilla, an Italian politician, and they had one son. They lived in Rome and were active in cultural and charitable organizations. Maria Beatrice died on January 26, 2021, at the age of 77. She was remembered as a kind and gracious person who devoted herself to helping others.
