Princess Máxima of the Netherlands was born as Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti on May 17, 1971 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is the daughter of Jorge Zorreguieta, a former Argentine politician, and María del Carmen Cerruti Caro. She grew up in Buenos Aires and studied economics at the Universidad Católica Argentina before moving to New York to work at Deutsche Bank. In 1999, Máxima met Prince Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands in Seville, Spain. They began dating and their relationship was announced to the public in 2001. They married on February 2, 2002, in Amsterdam, and have since had three daughters: Princess Catharina-Amalia, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane. As a member of the royal family, Princess Máxima is involved in various charitable organizations and initiatives. She is particularly passionate about financial inclusion, education, and entrepreneurship, and has worked with organizations such as the United Nations and the Dutch government to promote these causes. In 2013, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands abdicated and Willem-Alexander became king. Princess Máxima became queen consort and assumed a more prominent role in the country's affairs. She has been praised for her warmth, intelligence, and dedication to her duties as a royal.
