Queen Marie Rumania

Marie of Romania was born on October 29, 1875, in Kent, England. Her father was Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, and her mother was Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia. Marie was the granddaughter of Queen Victoria of England and Tsar Alexander II of Russia. Marie grew up in England, Germany, and Russia. She married Crown Prince Ferdinand of Romania in 1893, and the couple had six children. In 1914, Ferdinand became king of Romania, and Marie became queen. During World War I, Marie worked tirelessly to support the war effort and aid the wounded. She also helped Romania gain international recognition and support. After the war, she continued to work for social causes, including education and women's rights. Marie was an artist, writer, and poet, and she used her talents to promote Romanian culture and history. She wrote several books, including her memoirs, and also made films documenting her travels and her life in Romania. Marie died on July 18, 1938, at the age of 62. She was widely mourned and remembered for her compassion, intelligence, and dedication to Romania. Her legacy lives on through her writings, her art, and her contributions to Romanian society.
