Queen Máxima of the Netherlands

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands was born on May 17, 1971, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied Economics at the Universidad Católica Argentina and worked at multinational financial consulting firms before meeting her future husband, Prince Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. After marrying in 2002, Máxima became a member of the Dutch royal family and devoted herself to various causes, including financial inclusion and entrepreneurship. She has been a UN special advocate for inclusive finance for development since 2009. In 2013, she became the first Dutch queen consort in over a century when her husband ascended to the throne as King Willem-Alexander. As queen consort, Máxima continues to focus on her advocacy work and promoting Dutch culture and innovation abroad. She and her husband have three children, Princess Catharina-Amalia, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane.
