Ron Austin (husband of Claudine Longet)

Ron Austin was the first husband of singer and actress Claudine Longet. He was a professional skier and coach who met Longet in 1960. They got married in 1961 and had three children together. In the mid-1960s, Austin became a successful businessman, running his own sporting goods company. However, his marriage to Longet began to falter due to their hectic schedules and rumors of infidelity on both sides. They ultimately divorced in 1975. Following the divorce, Austin moved to Hawaii and became an avid surfer, eventually opening his own surf shop. He also continued to coach skiers and remained involved in the skiing community until his death in 2009 at the age of 80.
