Robert Grosvenor, 5th Duke of Westminster

Robert Grosvenor, 5th Duke of Westminster, was born on August 22, 1910, in London, England. He was the son of Hugh Grosvenor, 2nd Duke of Westminster, and Constance Edwina Cornwallis-West. He studied at Eton College and then went on to study at the University of Cambridge. In 1931, he inherited the title of Duke of Westminster after his father's death. He became one of the wealthiest men in Britain, owning extensive property and land in London and the north-west of England. He was also known for his love of horse racing and breeding. During World War II, he served as a captain in the British Army and was awarded the Military Cross for his bravery in North Africa. After the war, he became a prominent figure in the Conservative Party and served as a member of the House of Lords. He was also known for his philanthropy, supporting a number of charitable causes. He married three times and had four children. He died on February 19, 1963, at the age of 52. His son, Gerald Grosvenor, succeeded him as Duke of Westminster.
