Frederick IV of Denmark
Frederick IV of Denmark was born on October 11, 1671, in Copenhagen, Denmark, as the son of King Christian V of Denmark and his wife, Queen Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel. He was the king of Denmark and Norway from 1699 until his death in 1730, and was known for his military victories, economic reforms, and cultural patronage. During his reign, Frederick IV led successful military campaigns against Sweden, and managed to expand Denmark's territory. He also introduced several economic reforms, including the establishment of the Danish East India Company, which helped promote trade and commerce in the region. In addition to military and economic conquests, Frederick IV was also a patron of the arts and culture, and established the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts to promote the development of Danish art and culture. Frederick IV was married three times and had several children, including his successor, Christian VI of Denmark. He died on October 12, 1730, and was succeeded by his son Christian VI.
